“Uju, guess what happened in your absence? Psalmsong was here!! Uju, Psalmsong was here in this house!!! He sat down on this chair. Come, come smell the chair he sat on, you will smell his perfume”. My brother had gone on and on that faithful day.
Over forteen years ago but I still remember the darts of excitement in his eyes on that faithful afternoon when Psalmsong, the gospel artist visited my home to pick up a written song. It took time for my brother to get used to the fact that the musician actually visited him. He wondered who on earth he was to have attracted such a personality to his house.
Funny, isn’t it? Alot of us are like my brother of fourteen years ago. We see celebrities as demi gods! We think so highly of them and so little of ourselves but in actual facts, they are ordinary people like us with only one differentiating factor; they have found and do explore their talents, thus they grow in influence daily.
The stars you see on TV show, billboards and shows are not better than you! Some of us are even alot better than a host of them in character, yet we literally adore them. They have only found the light bulbs in them and have turned these bulbs on for the world to see and so they shine so bright that we have no choice but envy them.
However, in every man is the seed of greatness. You, yes I mean you reading this piece, are carrying something the world greatly needs. In you is a solution to a human problem, it is called your talent/potential/passion, name it. The reason a lot of us adore celebrities is because we don’t know who we truly are.
We go about with misplaced identities. We have conditioned our minds to believe the lies people and situations have told us. Who told you, you are ordinary? Who told you you were meant to be small?
There is a question I always ask during my corporate trainings and my speaking engagements; who are you? It’s alarming, the kind of responses I get. “I’m a banker” “I’m a mother” “I’m a corper”. These are not identities but societal status’.
This is the reason you talk, dress and act the way you do, because you don’t know who you truly are. Your true identity is born as a result of the solution you carry inside of you not your societal, career or marital status!
This is so profound because the day you realise who you truly are, everything about you will begin to change! The way you talk, act and dress wiĺl begin to change. When you have found your talent, you would understand that your life does not depend on that job and that the job is only a means to an end.
When you have found your talent, you will begin to exude a natural confidence that no amount of wealth can give to or take from you. Also as you walk in the line with that talent, this new found confidence will be boosted beyond measure.
Today, we are looking at those who do not know what their talents are. If you belong to this category, my word to you is find it. You need to find that talent immediately because in that talent, is your greatness and your true identity. If you need help in finding it, I have created an ebook that can help you find your talent with ease.
It’s titled; ALL YOU NEED TO FIND YOUR TALENT. Get in touch and I would give you a free copy of this eye-opening ebook.
For emphasis, I’m going to ask once again. Who are you? It’s so key you know this because that is what will make you stand before kings and presidents! That is what will make you influential and great. That is what will make your name heard at the corridors of power.
By next week Tuesday, I will be sharing with us the story of a man we all know. A man who did several jobs before he eventually found his passion (a very uncommon one), and how he grew in influence to the point of having presidents of various countries as his friends .
Punch line; there are eight billion people on planet earth. Don’t be lost in the crowd. Stand out by finding you!
